Youth Leadership Council

Girls in grades 6 to 11,

  • Have a say in what goes on in Girl Scouts in southeastern Wisconsin?
  • Give feedback to the leaders and directors of Girl Scouting?
  • Learn how to be leaders with other girls from other troops?
  • Develop programs with other girls from other troops?
  • Have fun?

then Youth Leadership Council (YLC) is for you!

How do you get on YLC?

  • Complete the application
  • Get a letter of recommendation from a nonrelative adult who knows you well (troop leader, coach, teacher)
  • Bring a completed project to discuss at a short interview* 
  • Participate in required 2½-day training

You will represent your age group on the council for two years. 

* Note:  You do NOT have to do a special project; you may use something from school, Girl Scouts, badge work, community service group or any other applicable project.  The project can be artwork, writing, something you built, or any other special interest project you may have.  Be creative and have fun; let your personality shine!

51st National Convention of GSUSA
More than 14,000 girl and adult
Girl Scout members will gather in Indianapolis for the 51st Girl Scout National Council Session/Convention, October 30-November 2, 2008. 

Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast is entitled to up to 23 national delegate representatives. Delegate applications received are under review. Selected individuals will be notified by July 18, 2008.

Individuals wishing to attend the 2008 Girl Scout National Council Session as visitors can e-mail lprivatt@gswise.org for a Visitor Form to complete.  Official visitors need to be registered members of GSUSA and 14 years of age or older at the time of convention.

Term for participation is September 2008-August 2009
Application deadline is June 27, 2008
