Houseboat Cruisin’
Fun in the sun! You will make new friends while cruisin’ the Mississippi! Move into the houseboat and set your course. Horsewoman
Review the basics of horsewomanship, packing horses, and learning first aid for humans and horses. Practice teambuilding and review traveling issues with animals. Then depending upon the group’s skills and abilities, you will have the opportunity to travel with the horses for at least one night. If time and schedules permit, your group may also take a day trip out of camp to see a rodeo and/or a horse show. Prerequisite: One year’s experience saddling and grooming a horse, experience with 6-plus hour trail rides and overnight horse care experience OR successful completion of Saddle-Up Nawakwa Camp.

Now you can spend one half of your stay at camp at the barn learning about horses, gear, and horse care. On-horse lessons include work in the arenas and a trail ride. Senior Horse Camp
If you have always had an interest in horses but are just ready to start riding, then Senior Horse Camp is for you. All ability levels are welcome to participate in this program. You will do a riding evaluation on your first day in camp and be placed in a riding group with other campers with similar abilities. Spend the week improving your confidence and skills in the arena. Wrangler In Training I and II (WIT I and WIT II)
Explore the idea of being a camp counselor who spends time teaching horseback riding through the Wrangler-in-Training program. This program is a two-year leadership program designed for those who are interested in working at camp. You will spend the first part of your stay learning about leadership, teaching styles, and begin developing your own. You will also spend time working at the barn learning about our facilities, the horses, and riding styles. An out-of-camp trip is taken to visit other camps and meet other leadership campers and learn how their programs run. The majority of your time in WIT II, you will put your horse knowledge into practice by spending time at the barn assisting with lessons, assisting in all areas of horse and facilities maintenance, assisting in the units with the horse campers, and possibly helping plan a horse trip. Fill out the camper registration form and send it in to request your application for the WIT program. Prerequisite: completion of LEAP, PA/LIT or comparable leadership experience.

Think the view is better from on top of the world? You bet! Why spend so much time on the ground when you can rock climb? Instructors will show you how to climb and belay. You will spend time at camp at our climbing wall, and then venture out of camp to get some more time at an indoor climbing facility. Then it is off to experience climbing in the outdoors on real rock. The last day of your session will take you to the treetops for a high ropes course. It’s guaranteed that you’ll have a ton of fun—and learn a ton about yourself and your group—on this day of teambuilding!

Enjoy the North Shore of Lake Superior as you travel to and from the Wolf Ridge Center in Finland, MN. Wolf Ridge has proved to be an awesome, never-to-be-forgotten experience for everyone who’s participated in it for the past two years! You will spend three days rock climbing, hiking, participating in a high ropes challenge course and learning about interesting birds of prey and other wildlife from the area. This is a perfect camp for those who want to do it all in a short amount of time. If time allows, your group may also plan to visit other exciting sites in the Superior and North Shore area.

Camp Character
You will be constantly challenging your limits this week. Strap on the pack for a backpacking trek through Camp Ehawee’s 308 acres. Map your way because you will be finding your way back to camp in the morning for some well deserved grub. Don’t unpack yet; you will be relocating to Devil’s Lake State Park to scale the bluffs! Spend one day and night in Baraboo, WI conquering your fears and the cliffs. Tired yet? I hope not. It’s time to get wet and wild in northern Wisconsin whitewater rafting down the Peshtigo River. Meet us back at camp and tell us about the trip! Note: ALL paperwork must be filled out prior to camp session. Cruisin’ the Apostle Islands
If you want to try out backpacking and wilderness camping, then crusin’ the Apostle Islands is right for you. On the first day at camp, we will prepare for the trip. Then, travel to Bayfield, WI to catch the ferry to the Apostle Islands. Set up camp with your new camp friends for the next two to three nights.
