Accreditation and More
Camps Alice Chester and Pottawatomie
Hills are proud to be accredited by the
American Camp Association (ACA). This
nationally recognized organization reviews all aspects of camp operations to ensure quality program activities, administration, and facilities. The camps are also licensed by the State of Wisconsin and follow strict safety guidelines in Safety-Wise (a Girl Scouts of the USA manual).

Weather Considerations
Most activities depend in some way upon weather. We make every effort to present camp activities as described. However, staff may need to make changes to protect the health and safety of our campers.

green butterflyHealthy Campers
Girl Scouts of the USA and the ACA require that girls who attend resident camp have a copy of a health examination dated no more than 24 months prior to opening day of each camp session. A Health Examination form and instructions are included in the confirmation information or at www.gswise.org. This form must be received on the first day of camp or camper will be excluded from camp activities and/or sent home. The Health History form on
page 34 is needed with registration.

Adventure Seekers
Check out www.gsadventureseekers.org for a listing of unique adventures throughout Wisconsin's Girl Scout resident camps. All out-of-council fees for these sessions are waived.

Camp Buddiesorange butterfly
Many girls come to camp to make new friends. However, some girls choose to come with a buddy. Girls who wish to be buddies at camp must register for the same program and same session. Please submit their registration forms together or register online at the same time. We will make every effort to place buddies together if only one buddy is listed and they list each other.

Refunds
Refunds, minus the $50 deposit, are available for medical reasons, summer school, a death or critical illness in the immediate family, or, if the family moves out of the area. Full refunds will be issued if your camper cannot be placed in a session of her choice.

Transportationgreen butterfly
Transportation is available from two stops in Milwaukee (see specific locations on page 33 Registration form) for an additional $35 per session. Transportation will be available for the following sessions only to and from Camp Alice Chester: AC2, AC4, AC5, AC7, and AC8.

Our Staff
Our remarkable staff includes college students and
educators from the United States and countries around the world. They’re compassionate, energetic, pink butterflyand fun. They go through intensive training in youth development, activity skills, and safety procedures to help serve as outstanding role models for your daughter. We use a selective hiring process to screen applicants, including background checks.
Staffing reflects an overall adult/camper
ratio of 1:6. If you know any remarkable
people who want to work at camp, check out
www.gswise.org.

Staying at Campyellow butterfly
Girls of the same age group live together in “units” and participate in small group activities, as well as being part of “all-camp” activities. Campers live in bunk houses, cabins, platform tents, teepees, or pitched tents with three to five other girls, sleeping on bunks or cots with mosquito netting. Counselors sleep nearby in their own cabin, tent, or room. There is a modern and centralized showerhouse and a
combination of latrines and flush toilets throughout camp. Go to www.gswise.org for photos.
