Horse Pursuit - Level 4
To properly prepare for our group Wilderness Pursuit must receive forms early. Read, Sign, and Send forms to Camp (P.O. Box 950, East Troy, WI 53120) by June 22.
Welcome to the highest level of horseback riding. It is crucial that all riders in this program are experienced riders. This means completing a third level riding session through Camp Alice Chester or an equivalent of 15 hours of riding. We have created this session directly from the input of girls who have completed the highest level horse program. Out of your five nights, two will be at Wilderness Pursuit Horseback Adventures
in Neillsville, Wisconsin There will a lot of riding and horse lessons including a 10-20 mile trail ride.
What do I need to wear at the horse ranch?
Clothing: While you ride, you will need to wear long pants, like jeans, and sturdy shoes or boots with a defined 1/2 - 1 inch heel. These will help keep your legs and feet protected while at the ranch, while not allowing slippage in the stirrups.
Bring a pair of shoes/boots with a 1/2 - 1 inch heel. Please no heels higher than one inch and no boots with lug soles.
On your head: Helmets must also be worn at all times when working with the horses. These are provided by the ranch.
Which horse will I get?
Each ranch we use has many horses and ponies, so the ranch staff can match horse size and temperament to each camper and their experience and skill level.
You will ride in a camp van that holds 12 passengers driven by one of our trained and qualified staff members. Remember that the van needs to hold twelve people, luggage, plus some of the community belongings and food so make sure to pack light!
