Leadership Opportunities for Teens

Begin the journey from camper to staff! Step into the shoes of a Camp Alice Chester staffer as you join us in leading serenades, camp fires and more. Our Counselor in Training (CIT) programs allows you grow at your own pace and become empowered with guidance from staff to aid you in your journey.

 CIT I (Counselor-in-Training I)
Entering grades 10-12

Unleash your leadership potential! Low ropes adventures will lead to enhancing your skills in team-building, activity facilitation and kid savvy responsibility. Then develop competence working with campers alongside the counselors in a unit. Recharge with swimming, boating and just having fun with your friends!

CIT II (Counselor-in-Training II)
Entering grades 11-12

Fine tune your leadership resume by spending more time mentoring younger campers. A high ropes course and road trip to other nearby camps will have your confidence soaring. Be a role model as you work with campers in different activity areas. At night, kick back and chill with your friends. After successful completion of CIT II, you may return to camp for one session as a volunteer for a nominal fee; details in your confirmation. Prerequisite: CIT I, plus a sincere desire to work with children and to learn leadership techniques.

CIT Adventurer (Counselor-in-Training Adventure Program)
Entering grades 11-12

What does it mean to take campers horseback riding, caving or on a canoe trip? Master your leadership skills by experiencing our adventure programs while building your counseling techniques. Help campers overcome fears and challenge them to try new activities, as you do the same. Complete the adventure with wwimming, fun and campfires with your friends! Prerequisite: CIT I, a sincere desire to work with children and to learn leadership techniques.
