-
Do not let your child sell door-to-door alone. Wisconsin state law requires that children under age 9 must be supervised by a person 16 or older when selling or delivering a product.
-
Girl Scout cookies may NOT be sold over the Internet! This includes sites such as Ebay or personal or troop Web pages. Emails to friends and family members are okay.
-
Never let your child enter another person’s home. All order taking and cookie deliveries should be made at the door.
-
Do not let your child carry large sums of money. (This also pertains to turning in the money - DO NOT send money, cash or checks, to school with your child.)
-
Remind her to wear her Girl Scout uniform, pin or something to identify her as a Girl Scout.
-
Girls should be prepared to give a designated adult name and phone number when asked and not give their own phone numbers, addresses or last names to customers.
-
Always sell during daylight and with another person. Brownie Girl Scouts should be accompanied by an adult. Junior Girl Scouts can sell with the buddy system.
