destinations
Girl Scout destinations are your chance to travel anywhere you can imagine, try new things, and meet sister Girl Scouts from around the globe. Every year
Girl Scout councils throughout the U.S. coordinate these travel opportunities for girls 11 to 17 years old. You can choose a Girl Scout destination from one of six areas: international, outdoors, science, people, apprenticeships, and getaways.

Girl Scout destinations generally happen between June and August each summer, although there are often a few that are offered in the winter months. They range from a few days to a few weeks, focus on a variety of topics, and are designed for girls of a particular age range. Past Girl Scout destinations have included dog sledding in Minnesota, kayaking in Alaska, Broadway in New York, engineering in Missouri, astronautics in Alabama, and touring New Zealand. Girl Scout destination program fees range from $500 to $4,000 dollars, not including air travel.
There is an application and selection process to participate in a Girl Scout destination. You can apply for up to four Girl Scout destinations and must complete a full application for each event you choose to apply to. A full application includes the official Girl Scout destination application, two references, and an essay specific to that Girl Scout destination. Applications can be found at www.studio2b.org.
The annual deadline to apply for a Girl Scout destination is November 1. Girl Scout destination applications can be mailed to Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast, 131 S. 69th St., P.O. Box 14999, Milwaukee, WI, 53214-0999 or dropped off at your local Girl Scout service center. Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast will forward your applications to the Girl Scout destination’s hosting Girl Scout council. You’ll find out whether you've been accepted to go on your destination between mid-January and mid-February.
