In August my Girl Scout troop went to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, a national park in Minnesota, and let me say it was one of the best weeks of my life.

Program Aides (PAs) and Counselors-In-Training (CITs) are girls entering eighth grade through graduating seniors who lead and plan camp activities. They are nervous and excited to be role models at camp as they teach outdoor skills and recreate all the fun memories that they experienced back when they were campers.

Girl Scout troop in Whitefish Bay donates cookie proceeds for cancer care

Girl Scouts make a difference in southeast Wisconsin in myriad ways. This holiday season, we're especially inspired by the story of Brownie Troop 3522: The troop's 26 members decided to donate their 2012 cookie money to the Aurora Cancer Center in Grafton, inspired by their troop leader who is a cancer survivor.
