Girl Scout camp: How one mom overcame her day camp jitters

Last summer, my now fourth grade twin daughters went to Silverbrook Day Camp for the first time. I am not a helicopter mom, yet for some reason I kept holding them back saying, “Next summer you can go.” I kept waiting for them to be old enough.

Top 5 Ways for Adult Volunteers to Support PAs and CITs at Day Camp

Program Aides (PAs) and Counselors-In-Training (CITs) are girls entering eighth grade through graduating seniors who lead and plan camp activities. They are nervous and excited to be role models at camp as they teach outdoor skills and recreate all the fun memories that they experienced back when they were campers.
