Girl Scouts from all across southeastern Wisconsin traveled to Discovery World Nov. 8-9 to experience interactive opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast has partnered with Time Warner Cable and Discovery World to provide unique opportunities to Girl Scouts related to STEM for the past four years. Girl Scout troops and families were able to enjoy all the amazing exhibits that Discovery World has to offer and interact with 15 STEM-themed exhibitors showcasing various interactive activities.
Some troops and girls pre-registered for unique lab opportunities where they were able to learn about the different fish of the Great Lakes and experiment with pattern design to make a fish printed dress. Other girls learned how smells trigger memories and emotions and created their own personal fragrance to take home.
Over 1,585 Girl Scouts attended STEMfest this year over the course of the two days.
