Girl Scout Advocacy Day at the Wisconsin State Capitol

advocacy day 2019

On Wednesday, March 6, Girl Scout councils from across the state will welcome our Wisconsin State Legislators into honorary Girl Scout Troop 1912. Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors are invited to attend this annual investiture ceremony and discussions about important legislative issues affecting girls today, such as girls’ involvement in STEM, strengthening financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills, access to outdoor activities, building healthy relationships, and bullying prevention.

This is a free event for girls. Transportation to and from Madison will be provided from the Marion Chester Read Center (131 S. 69th Street, Milwaukee). Girls will meet at the MCRC at 7:15 a.m. and will return at 4:00 p.m. Lunch is included. Girl Scout staff will be accompanying the girls; therefore, adult chaperones are not needed.
Girls are required to attend the Advocacy Day prep session, scheduled for Thursday, February 28 from 6:00-7:30 pm at the Marion Chester Read Center (131 S. 69th Street, Milwaukee). The prep session will help girls attending Advocacy Day understand their role during this event.
