MILWAUKEE – (August 16, 2022) – Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast (GSWISE) is holding its annual signature event, Celebrate the Promise, tonight from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at Discovery World (500 N. Harbor Dr., Milwaukee). The event will highlight local Girl Scouts and raise funds to create more opportunities for skill-building, friend-making, and life-changing experiences for thousands of Girl Scouts in southeastern Wisconsin. For the first time, tonight’s event will also introduce the new Raspberry Rally ™ Girl Scout cookie that will officially join the 2023 Girl Scout Cookie season.
Celebrate the Promise attendees will be some of the first to try the new Raspberry Rally ™ cookie before its debut during the 2023 Girl Scout Cookie season, which begins February 1, 2023 in southeastern Wisconsin. The thin, crispy cookie is infused with raspberry flavor and dipped in a delicious chocolaty coating. Raspberry Rally ™ gives devoted Girl Scout cookie lovers yet another reason to be excited for the upcoming cookie season. This must-have new cookie will be the first in the Girl Scout Cookie lineup to be exclusively offered for online direct shipment only (shipping rates apply), enhancing girls’ e-commerce sales and entrepreneurial skills. Local Girl Scouts in southeastern Wisconsin will offer this exclusive, limited supply Raspberry Rally ™ cookie next season online-only alongside favorites like Thin Mints®, Adventurefuls™, and Caramel deLites.® To sign up to be notified as soon as Raspberry Rally ™ and other Girl Scout Cookies are on sale in your area, visit www.girlscoutcookies.org.
Attendees at the Celebrate the Promise event will also enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and Girl Scout activities while connecting with fellow supporters in the community. A short program will include remarks from Christy Brown, chief executive officer at GSWISE; this year’s event co-chairs and proud Girl Scout parents Terry Tuttle at HellermannTyton North America, and District 10 Alderman Michael Murphy; and local Girl Scouts who will share their experiences as Girl Scouts and how they strive to make the world a better place. The evening will also include raffles, games, and a silent auction.
“We are excited to honor the impact Girl Scouting has on making the world a better place, and we’re ecstatic to support Girl Scouts as they build leadership skills and discover their passions,” said Christy Brown, chief executive officer at GSWISE. “We look forward to connecting with supporters in our community so we can continue to provide opportunities for Girl Scouts to explore what interests them and take action on issues they care about.”
Event attendees will visit with Girl Scouts at interactive stations to hear more about new skills they are learning and their big dreams for the future. Interactive stations will highlight four important Girl Scout pillars: the Life Skills Pillar, where attendees will chat with an older Girl Scout who earned the Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouting; the Outdoors Pillar, featuring a Mariner troop who will demonstrate water safety techniques and engage attendees in a nautical flag activity; the STEM Pillar, where guests will learn more about the Girl Scouts Climate Challenge and collect tree data; and the Entrepreneurship Pillar, where attendees will learn more about a new Daisy Toy Business Designer badge.
The event proceeds will help provide opportunities for any girl in southeastern Wisconsin to join Girl Scouts if interested, no matter who they are, where they come from, or where they are on their journey. Celebrate the Promise serves as an opportunity to share the Girl Scout mission and support Girl Scouts as they learn, grow, and succeed today and into the future. About Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast (GSWISE)
Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world. Girl Scouts of all backgrounds and abilities can be unapologetically themselves as they discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges. Backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors, and millions of alums, Girl Scouts lead the way as they find their voices and make changes that affect the issues most important to them. We serve approximately 11,000 girls in grades K5-12, and 5,200 adults who believe in our mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. With programs in Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Walworth, Washington, and Waukesha counties, we give every Girl Scout in our council the chance to reach their full leadership potential.
