Girl-Led Process
Including girls in selecting events provides a great opportunity to experience a girl-led process. Girls learn about decision making, finances, accountability, ownership, and the group processes. The troop, girls, and adults, are resopnsible for sharing their decisions about events with parents ensuring they are informed and can support the troop's decisions.

Opening and Closing Registration
  • Events occuring October-January: Opens Wednesday, September 11 at 11:00 p.m.
  • Events occuring February-May: Opens Wednesday, November 13 at 11:00 p.m.
All events (unless otherwise noted) close two weeks before the event date if not filled earlier.

Cancelations and Refunds
If a troop or girl can not attend an event for which they have paid, notify the council by the registration deadline (two weeks before an event) to transfer the fee to another event (one transfer only). Full refunds will be issued if the event is canceled by the council.

Confirmations
All registrants will recieve a detailed confirmation by email two weeks prior to the event. It will contain event details including appropriate dress, items to bring, directions, and a map. The person who registered the troop is responsible for ensuring that everyone has recieved the confirmation.

Program Activity Credits (PACs)
PACs earned through the Fall Nut Sale or Girl Scout Cookie Program Activity can reduce the cost for the girl who earned the PAC to attend an event. Submit PACs by mail or by dropping off at any resource center after registering online or submit with the Event Registration form.

Adult Responsibilities
Troop Leaders are responsible for obtaining permission slips and for meeting Safety-Wise adult to girl ratios for the event. Adults are encouraged to attend with individually registered girls as well. Attending adults are expected to assist the girls when needed and ensure appropriate girl behavior.

Earned Recognitions
All events are connected to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and many help girls earn a Girl Scout recognition – a badge or Journey award. When you see Earned award, girls will complete all five steps to that badge or Related award, girls will complete some steps to that badge.

Overnight Events
Bed space is limited, we ask that troops only register the required number of adults to meet Safety-Wise ratios for council overnight events. Troops can also create their own overnight by coordinating your event choice with renting the same site to maximize the experience. Registration is completed and confirmed separately.

Girls with Additional Needs
We make every effort to meet the special needs of all girls, so that everyone can fully participate. Please note any special emotional, learning, physical, mental, or health needs of girls when registering. For specific questions or situations, please e-mail events@gswise.org or call 800-565-GIRL (4475).
