Team LOL is going to the World Championship!

One of our GSWISE FIRST LEGO League (FLL) teams advanced to the World Festival in St. Louis. Team LOL is a third year robotics team comprised of girls in grades 5-8 from Wauwatosa. Wisconsin alone had approximately 400 FLL teams. LOL started their journey at the regional competition where they won the Champion’s award (first place award) which advanced them to sectionals. At sectionals, only the top 96 teams competed and again LOL walked away with the Champion’s award and advanced to the state tournament. At the state tournament in Watertown, 36 teams from all over Wisconsin came together to compete for this first place award to advance to the World Championship. Team LOL once again won the tournament, taking  their third Champion’s award this year and second place award for Robot Performance. In St. Louis, April 22-25, 2015, LOL will proudly represent Wisconsin, GSWISE and be part of the USA team. This event plans to have 30,000+ people in attendance from 45 countries! Congratulations LOL on all your achievements in the 2014 FLL season and best of luck at the Champioship!

2015 GSWISE FIRST LEGO League Season
We’re not talking trash – we’re cleaning it up!  In the 2015 FIRST® LEGO® League TRASH TREKSM Challenge, 290,000 children ages 9 to 16* from over 80 countries will explore the fascinating world of trash.  From collection, to sorting, to smart production and reuse, there is more to your trash than meets the eye.  Join GSWISE FIRST LEGO League teams on a Trash Trek to discover the hidden (or not so hidden) world of trash!
In the TRASH TREKSM Challenge, teams will build, test and program an autonomous robot using LEGO® MINDSTORMS® EV3 to solve a set of missions as well as research, develop and share their innovative solutions for the TRASH TREKSM Challenge. Obstacles will relate to how people can clean up trash.
