Enjoy a week-long camp exploring careers as a first responder
You'll develop courage, gain confidence, and build character.
CampHERO is a hands-on experience that introduces you to the protective services. You will explore your interests and skills while participating in activities in the areas of law enforcement, fire fighting, and emergency medicine. Girl Scouts work alongside the professionals at the Milwaukee Area Technical College Oak Creek campus during the day and spend your nights sleeping at Camp Alice Chester in East Troy.
CampHERO is hosted June 21-26 and is open for campers in grades 7-12 for the 2025-2026 school year.

No adventure is too big for a Girl Scout.
Your week will be jampacked with activities from all three career fields including crime scene analysis, fire fighting, CPR instruction, 911 dispatch communication, self-defense instruction, vehicle extrication (jaws of life), criminal investigation, search and rescue, Fire and Police Academy tour, and more!
Work with other leaders in the community.
Receive hands-on training and instruction from the women and men within the ranks of law enforcement, fire fighting, and emergency medicine who will help you experience first-hand what it takes to pursue these types of careers.

Above all, our goal for you is to have a terrific time. You will meet new people, try different activities, and have fun playing and learning. There will be campers from different backgrounds and cultures at camp—we learn from one another and treat everyone with respect and understanding.
Camp life is the best life.
In the evenings, get ready for campfires and bonding time with your friends at Camp Alice Chester. All of the fun you have develops your leadership skills, increases your independence, and connects you with nature as you adventure in the great outdoors.
A typical day at CampHERO
7:00 a.m. Wake up, get ready for the day, breakfast
8:00 a.m. Board bus or camp van to MATC
9:00 a.m. Morning activities and sessions
12:00 p.m. Lunch
1:00 p.m. Afternoon activities and sessions
4:00 p.m. Bus or camp van to Camp Alice Chester
5:00 p.m. Showers or relax time at camp
5:30 p.m. Singing Steps, Closing Flag Ceremony, and dinner
7:00 p.m. Evening activities
9:00 p.m. Day is done
9:30 p.m. Lights out
