Each Girl Scout council is entitled to elect a set number of national delegates based on its annual girl membership. These delegates are the voice of GSWISE on a national level. They represent members' interests, vote on proposals, and elect the National Board of Directors at the National Council Session, hosted every three years.
During the delegates' three-year term, they gather feedback from members, learn about proposals, and serve as a voting member, deciding on matters that guide the direction of Girl Scouting. Delegates then share insights and report on actions taken by the National Council locally at GSWISE.
