Official Sweepstakes Rules
1. Sweepstakes Overview, Eligibility and Term.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING. YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY WON.
Welcome to the Girl Scouts® Great Cookie Giveaway Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”), sponsored by Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast (“Sponsor”). Participation in the Sweepstakes is only available to individual legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia, who are at least the age of majority or older in their state or jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry (together with all other eligibility and participation criteria as specified herein, a “Participant”). The Sweepstakes is void where prohibited and to the extent restricted by law. Employees, officers, and directors of Sponsor, and all of its respective parents, subsidiaries, divisions, and affiliates are not eligible to participate or win.
These specifications, terms and conditions relating to the Sweepstakes comprise the Official Sweepstakes Rules (“Rules”) and shall govern and apply to all participation and activity arising out of and relating to the Sweepstakes. In the event of a conflict between the Rules and any other official Sweepstakes-related communications by Sponsor, these Rules shall govern. Participant shall review these Rules which, by Participant’s participation and as a condition to claiming, redeeming, and use of any Sweepstakes prize, Participant agrees will govern all aspects of Participant’s relationship with the Sweepstakes and Sponsor. These Rules cannot be modified or superseded except by Sponsor, in its reasonable discretion, in a written revision to these Rules posted on its website at www.gswise.org (“Site”), and at Sponsor’s sole discretion, other potential official Sweepstakes communication methods reasonably calculated to reach Participants.
2. How to Enter.
No purchase necessary to participate in the Sweepstakes. There are two ways to enter.
1. To enter online, purchase four packages of Girl Scout cookies or more in a single transaction from a participating Girl Scout or troop at a cookie booth, and you will receive a code and instructions for online entry through the Site. Visit the Site, access the official Sweepstakes entry form, provide all requested information on the entry form, and submit the completed entry form to Sponsor as indicated. The entry period begins when the Site goes live on or about February 28, 2025, and ends at the close of business on March 30, 2025. All entries must be received by Sponsor’s computer system prior to the end of the entry period to be eligible to win. One entry per person per qualifying purchase. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. on March 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30.
2. To enter by mail, send your complete name (no initials), valid e-mail address, street address (P.O. Boxes not accepted), city, state, ZIP code, telephone number, and date of birth (MM/DD/YYYY) on a 3½”x5” card (“Mail-In Entry”) and mailing it with sufficient postage to: Girl Scouts Great Cookie Giveaway Sweepstakes. Attn: Product Program, 131 S. 69th Steet, Milwaukee WI 53214. All Mail-In Entries must be received on or before March 30, 2025, in order to be eligible. Only one entry allowed per outside envelope.
The Sponsor’s computer is the official time-keeping device for this Sweepstakes. No other forms of entry are valid other than those set forth above. All entry information becomes the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned or acknowledged.
By entering, you agree that any information collected in connection with the Sweepstakes may be used by Sponsor for the intended purpose and as otherwise outlined herein. Entries must be received on official entry forms, and no facsimile, mechanically reproduced, photocopied, illegible, or incomplete entries will be accepted, and all such entries will not be acknowledged and will be void. Only entries which are fully compliant with these Official Rules will be included in the prize drawing. Entries in excess of the stated limit are prohibited and may void all entries by that Participant. Participants expressly agree to assume the risk of lost, late, incomplete, illegible, undelivered or misdirected entries. Submission of entry is subject to, and all entrants must comply with, all policies, terms and conditions set forth in these Rules. Proof of submission does not constitute proof of receipt. Entries by any means which subvert the entry process will be void. Released Parties (as defined below) are not responsible for lost, late, stolen, misdirected, damaged, illegible, incomplete, or unreceived entries.
3. Prize.
Three (3) Weekly Grand Prizes: During the weeks of March 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30 three winners will be chosen from among all eligible entries received prior to the applicable drawing date to receive the Grand Prize of one (1) case of Girl Scout cookies, consisting of twelve (12) individual packages per case with varieties to be agreed upon by the winner and Sponsor. Approximate Retail Value of Prizes: $72. No cash redemptions or prize substitutions will be allowed except at Sponsor’s sole discretion, and Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the prize (or portion thereof) with a prize of comparable or greater value should an advertised prize become unavailable for any reason. Winner must comply with these Rules, and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all such requirements. All federal, state and local taxes, and any other costs and expenses associated with prize acceptance and use are the sole responsibility of winner. Prize is awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsor. All prize details are at Sponsor’s sole discretion.
If potential Winner does not wish to accept the Prize, an alternate winner may be selected at random from the pool of eligible Participants. All details of the Prize not set forth herein will be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. All Participants and entries are subject to verification prior to the awarding of a Prize, as are the eligibility, age and other claims of information provided by a potential prize winner.
4. Drawing.
Individual random drawings will be held the weeks of March 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30. The potential winners will be notified via the contact information provided on the entry. If Sponsor is not able to reach the potential winner after three attempts; a potential winner does not respond to Sponsor with information needed to deliver the Prize; a potential winner is otherwise ineligible pursuant to these Rules; or a potential winner cannot receive the prize for any reason; then the potential winner will be deemed to have forfeited the prize. In the event of forfeiture by a winner, an alternate winner may be selected from among the remaining eligible entries. Prizes will be delivered to winner in a manner and location as agreed upon by winner and Sponsor. Odds of winning depend on total number of eligible entries received prior to each drawing date.
5. General Terms.
Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes if, in Sponsor’s opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion of the Sweepstakes, there is any unsportsmanlike, dangerous or disruptive behavior associated with the Sweepstakes, or there are viruses, bugs, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical difficulties or failures or any other factor beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes. In such event, Sponsor reserves the right (but does not have the obligation) in its sole discretion to award prizes from among eligible, non-suspect entries received up to the time of suspected impairment. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes or to be acting in violation of these Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of this Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision of these Rules. The Sponsor may prohibit you from participating in the Sweepstakes and void all associated entries, at its sole discretion, if you repeatedly show a disregard for the Rules or act: (a) in a manner they determine to be not fair or equitable; (b) with an intent to annoy, threaten, or harass any other Participant or the Sponsor; or (c) in any other disruptive manner. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A PARTICIPANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE; SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES) AND OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PARTICIPANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
By accepting the Prize, winner grants to Sponsor the right to print, publish, broadcast, and use worldwide in any media now known or hereinafter known the winner’s name, image, voice, statement, picture, or other likeness, without additional review, notification or compensation, for public relations, advertising, trade, and promotional purposes as may be determined by Sponsor, unless prohibited by law.
6. Liability Release/Indemnification
By participating, Participant agrees to release, defend, hold harmless and indemnify Sponsor, related promotional retail partners and each of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, franchisees, service agencies, independent contractors, and the officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives of any of the above organizations (“Released Parties”) from any injury, loss or damage to person, including but not limited to death or property damage due in-whole or in-part, directly or indirectly to the acceptance, use, or misuse of a Prize, participation in any Sweepstakes-related activity, or participation in the Sweepstakes. Winner shall bear all risks of loss or damage to a Prize after it has been delivered.
7. Dispute Resolution
Except where prohibited, by participating in this Sweepstakes, Participant agrees that all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Rules, or the rights and obligations of Participant(s) and Sponsor, shall be governed by and construed exclusively in accordance with the laws of the State of Wisconsin without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law of any jurisdiction and that: (a) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; (b) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with participating, but in no event attorneys' fees; and (c) under no circumstances will any Participant be permitted to obtain awards for and hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.
