Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast Hosting Annual Celebrate the Promise Fundraiser
Celebrate the Promise Highlights Local Girl Scouts on June 1 at Discovery World
MILWAUKEE – (May 26, 2023) – Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast (GSWISE) is holding its annual fundraiser, Celebrate the Promise, on Thursday, June 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Discovery World (500 N. Harbor Dr., Milwaukee). The event will spotlight local Girl Scouts and raise funds to create opportunities for thousands of girls in southeastern Wisconsin to make friends, test their strengths, explore new possibilities, build skills, and experience life-changing memories.
Celebrate the Promise attendees will have the chance to visit with Girl Scouts at interactive stations to learn about the skills they are developing related to four key Girl Scout pillars: life skills, outdoors, STEM, and entrepreneurship. Under the direction of these local Girl Scouts, guests can test out their own abilities in robotics, catapults, and campfire building, while hearing more about the girls’ experiences and future dreams.
In addition to meeting Girl Scouts, Celebrate the Promise attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction and donate through a purpose-driven paddle raise. The evening will feature a program, including remarks from Christy Brown, Chief Executive Officer at GSWISE; Theresa Barry, the evening’s event chair; and local Girl Scout Ambassadors who will share their Girl Scout stories and how they are striving to make an impact on the community.
Sponsorships and donations from Celebrate the Promise help provide opportunities for anyone in southeastern Wisconsin to join Girl Scouts if interested, no matter who they are, where they come from, what they want out of life, or where they are on their journey. Girl Scout programming provides girls across southeastern Wisconsin the chance to discover their untapped potential and become the leaders that our community needs.
“Girl Scouting has had a significant impact on making southeastern Wisconsin a better place – and Celebrate the Promise offers a wonderful window into the effect of Girl Scouting on the local community,” said Christy Brown, Chief Executive Officer at Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast. “We are looking forward to connecting with our donors and partners as we continue to build the future of this region and encourage girls to discover themselves and take action on issues they care about.”
